Sander’s roots are important to him. His commitment to paying forward and his dedication to good works are tributes to the many mentors who helped him on his own path. The following programs are very close to Sander’s heart:

As an army veteran, Sander understands the culture shock that many soldiers face after returning from war and military service. For so many the road back to employment is not easy. To assist veterans with re-entry into the work force, Sander serves as a mentor with Edge4Vets, an organization helping vets integrate back into civilian lifestyle. The focus is on identifying strengths that were developed in the military and finding ways to apply those skills towards success back at home. Sander is also giving time to forwarding a branch of the organization called Edge4WomenVets, supporting female members of the armed services.

Rose Flaum Foundation
As a child, Sander suffered with a pronounced stuttering handicap. Refusing to let him hide behind it, his mother, Rose, instilled in him the mantra “work harder and smarter.” Sander’s remarkable career is proof that his obstacle did not limit his success. The Rose Flaum Foundation is a tribute to his mother, offering support to stuttering therapy programs and to stutterers who cannot afford therapy.
NYPD Recruitment and Community Awareness Campaign
Robert A. Becker, where Sander was CEO, developed a pro bono Recruitment and Community Awareness Campaign to help the NYC police department attract new recruits. Commissioner Howard Safir honored Sander and RA Becker for their work: “Thanks from the men and women in blue.”
